I-BDM and Bays Consulting support Fleetonomy – winners of the MOD Last Mile Challenge.

I-BDM and Bays Consulting are pleased to announce their collaboration with Fleetonomy as part of the UK MOD “Last Mile” challenge to develop an Uber-style drone delivery service enabling supply operators to command and control a fleet of unmanned air vehicles, undertaking simultaneous last mile missions.  This state-of-the-art project will ultimately reduce the resource burden to dismounted soldiers whilst providing accurate, pace-driven, local context-based and rapid re-supply into congestd urban environments.

As announced by Minister for Defence Procurement Harriett Baldwin, at DSEI on the 14th September, the MOD Last Mile Challenge sought innovative approaches to support front line troops.  The Fleetonomy project will demonstrate how by leveraging autonomous fleets increases the flexibility, agility and effectiveness of front line troops whilst simultaneously providing fused sensor data to decision-makers.

This is an exciting collaboration between three niche highly experienced SMEs.  Leading on the development of the end to end platform for planning, operating and optimizing fleets of autonomous vehicles, Fleetonomy will draw upon the analytical, evaluation and research capabilities of Bays Consulting with i-BDM Ltd providing outstanding project management and business development.

Dan and Sophie, directors of i-BDM and Bays Consulting said:

“Collaborating with Fleetonomy on this ground breaking, innovative project is a fantastic opportunity to develop our companies’ capabilities, expertise and knowledge to a current problem within the defence industry.  We are looking forward to meeting others working in this area and providing a rapid delivery of a much-needed capability.”
