It’s not every year that a company can say that it’s won three awards (Theo Paphitis Small Business Sunday – #SBS; the Market Me #SmartSocial award and Andy Quinn’s #Queenof Statistics) and trebled it’s workforce, but in the last twelve months Bays Consulting has achieved just that.
I’m really pleased to say that last year Abbie joined as media and communications manager and as such takes a lot of the credit for writing the tweets and posts which won us the awards. In addition to taking on all aspects of the social media she’s also busy studying for her degree and writing for the website. Suffice to say her boundless enthusiasm is matched only by her raw talent. It takes a great deal of bravery to be the first employee within a company, but she’s jumped in with both feet and taken the “in a small business no-one get to wear one hat” approach with gusto. Bringing ideas to the table and rising to every challenge set, Abbie has really supported the company in building networks and developing the pipeline by reaching and engaging with potential customers.
More recently, Sam joined as the head of analytics which has made a huge difference to our ability to complete work in-house and extend the size of project we’re able to undertake. Again, Sam has thrown herself into the midst of a micro-company with un-nerving enthusiasm and ability to cut to the chase on even the most complex of analytical problems. Sam has settled in so quickly, it’s hard for Abbie and I to remember a time when she wasn’t there to work with.
This puts Bays Consulting in a stronger position at the start of 2019 than it was in 2018. I’m not too sure where the year will take us, but equalling 2018 will be a tall order.
